Andrea Bellavite (1959) is an expert on local history and social trends, who often explores the meaning of borders and coexistence in his works. He has lived in Gorizia since 1968. A theologian, essayist and journalist, he edited the weekly magazine Voce Isontina for eight years. He is editor of the periodical Nuove strade/ Nove poti and the magazine Alpinando. In 2013, he was theological consultant on the set of Marco Bellocchio's film Bella Addormentata (Sleeping Beauty). Together with Tiziana Perini and Marco Bregant, he published Il Cammino Celeste: A piedi da Aquileia al Monte Lussari (Ediciclo 2011); together with photographer Massimo Crivellari, he published L'Isonzo e Il Carso.
